Adastra IP was honoured to be invited as a panelist for this year’s IP Finance Dialogue in Geneva on 13th May, organised and hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organisation. Christine Ng represented the firm to speak in the panel on “The Value of Intangibles – the role of IP Valuation in IP Finance”. WIPO Director General Mr. Daren Tang highlighted the rapid growth of intangible assets — now valued at $80 trillion globally — and the urgent need to align financial systems with this new economic reality. As countries and financial institutions increasingly adopt IP-backed financing, WIPO is working with various stakeholders to unlock the hidden value of intellectual property to support innovation and growth worldwide. The event aimed to foster collaboration across policy, business, and finance to unlock opportunities for innovation, SME growth, and investment through better IP valuation and financing practices.

Directors and Patent Specialists from Malaysia and Singapore led impactful sessions, sharing valuable insights into the dynamic intersection of Intellectual property (IP), Technology, and Innovation. The event was graced by our distinguished Guest of Honor, Tan Sri Abd Rahmat Mamat, Chairman of Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), who officiated the seminar. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Till Ulrike, Director of IP & Frontier Technologies Division at World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); Mr. Hafez Azhar, Head of Legal and Governance at Cradle Fund; and Mr. Alwyn David, Country Manager of NetApp Malaysia for their roles as speakers and moderator. Adastra IP took part in the second edition of IPOS’s Connect @ IP Grow on the 3rd and 4th March at the National Library, in collaboration with the National Library Board. Our Singapore Director Mr. Prithipal Singh anchored the sessions and had consultations with a number of SMEs looking for insights and answers to their IP related questions. It was well attended and once again, a good event well planned and organised by IPOS’s Go Business team.
