Shen graduated from University of Nottingham Malaysia with first class honours in Environmental Science. She started her professional career as an Innovation Manager and Biosafety Officer in a biotechnology startup where she was managing a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic environment that emphasised on scientific innovation and rapid growth.

Leveraging on her experience in R&D, she is now the Commercialisation Manager of Adastra where she focuses on identifying commercially valuable IP and implementing viable and cost-effective commercialisation pathways that lead to the successful development of new products and services. Together with a team, she is also involved in Patent Analytics to provide clients with actionable insights that can inform strategic decision-making with regards to managing intangible assets.
